Empty Function

The Empty function returns either True or False depending on if the value is an empty string or is NULL.

Example:

%%[
set @test = “”
]%%
%%=EMPTY(@test)=%%

Output:

True

Explanation:

The @test variable is set as an empty string. When evaluated using the Empty function, it returns True because it is an empty string. The Empty function can also be used on data attributes to determine if the value is null.
